1. What we collect
Account information (email, authentication identifiers), genetic data you choose to upload (raw DNA file and the parsed variants derived from it), product usage data, and consent records. We do not request ancestry, names, addresses, or phone numbers.
2. How we use your information
- Generate the educational wellness insights you requested.
- Operate, maintain, and improve Variant Pilot.
- Detect abuse, fraud, and security incidents.
- Communicate service-related updates. Marketing email is opt-in.
3. Legal bases
Where required (e.g. GDPR), we rely on your explicit consent for processing genetic data, on contract for providing the service, and on legitimate interests for security and product improvement.
4. Storage and security
Data is stored in our managed backend with encryption at rest and in transit. Access is scoped to authenticated requests tied to your account.
5. Sharing
We do not sell your data. We do not share genetic data with insurers, employers, advertisers, or law-enforcement absent valid legal process. Limited service providers (hosting, payment processing) process data on our behalf under contract.
6. Your rights
You can access, export (where supported), correct, or delete your data from the Privacy page in-app. Depending on your jurisdiction, you may also have rights to restrict or object to processing — contact support@yourdomain.com.
7. Children
Variant Pilot is not directed at anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
8. Analytics and error tracking
We use first-party, privacy-conscious analytics to improve usability — for example, which pages are visited, which buttons are clicked, and whether key flows (signup, upload, checkout) succeed. We also record application errors so we can fix bugs.
Analytics and error records never contain raw DNA data, SNP IDs, genotypes, variant data, individual trait names, chat messages, AI responses, your email, or your full name. For questions, contact support@yourdomain.com.
9. Changes
We will post material changes here and, where required, ask for renewed consent.
